DECEMBER 2017

I. LOVE. MY. LIFE.  Having my family with me all day.  Serving our Lord in a foreign country.  Knowing people from all over the world.  I am so blessed.


But life isn't all a bed of roses.  One of the recent thorns in my life has been our internet.  Whenever I want to sit down and blog, then internet is SO slow, that I am not able to accomplish anything.  So, you, my readers, will just have to bear with me as I try to figure out how to be more up-to-date with the postings.

To try to finish up the year, I am just going to do a photo recap of the past few months.

The fair came to town.

Yes, we held this snake.

Skyler, another teen in our household.

Keith left on his birthday, so we just did cupcakes.

My daughter made me an amazing dessert for my birthday!

Keith began the village ministry in September.

October 9 was our Independence Service.

A visitor to our compound.

No more single digit kids in our family!

Moreen and Robert were married December 16.

These were the cakes I made for the wedding.

My kids lent their help with trying to get ready for the Ladies Conference.

54 Ladies attended our Connect the Dots Conference.

There were dots everywhere!

A major bee problem in our roof required a professional to come and remove the roof.

After 3 days, the queen was finally found.

These live chickens are on their way to the market for Christmas.

Our Christmas service included a deaf lady.

Cousins - such love and fun.

LESSONS FROM CREATION (Pt. 2)

Remember when I mentioned our theme for my Ladies Sunday School class?  IT HAS BEEN SO MUCH FUN!  Not every week has been full of games and visuals.  After all, how do you visualize wind?  I thought we could run the fan on "hi" for the whole class, but we didn't even have electricity that day. However, let me share a couple of themes from the past month. Butterflies: Using my Cricut, we were able to cut out several butterflies to use for a review game.  I did learn an important lesson in doing this, though.  Construction paper on Cricut mats - a miserable mess to clean up!  Those small fibers love the stickiness.  While doing our shopping in the capitol a couple of months back, I spied these butterfly notebooks and grabbed up all they had.  On the day of class, I told the Lord, "You know I have just 14 notebooks.  You must control the size of my class."  That day, our attendance was low - 13 ladies. FALL or PRE-FURLOUGH CLEANING

Do you ever wonder what happens to a missionary's house while he is in the States?  Our previous furloughs we took things off of the walls, draped sheets over the furniture, and locked the doors.  Some missionaries move out of their houses, and others store everything in containers.  This time things will be different for us.  A fellow missionary will be returning from their furlough in January and will be staying in our house during our absence.  This will keep our house occupied, as well as give them time to find a house of their own.  So the cleaning, sorting and packing has begun. My book-loving kids are begging, "Please don't pack these books, yet.  What will we have to read?"  Washing the living room walls   For several weeks in a row, our ladies soulwinning team has seen someone saved each week.  Tonight my partner and I were making visits and were able to lead a Jaja (elderly lady) to the Lord.  Please pray for the me...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Yellow because I'm Keith's Yellow Rose of Texas.  Red because he loves me so much. How special I feel.  This year my birthday celebration lasted for over a week.  Nearly every day, I was presented with a gift.  When Keith returned from Kampala on the 13th, he brought me two large bouquets of roses for my birthday.  (We can't get fresh flowers here in Masaka, so he was sure to plan ahead.)  On the 15th, Brother Ron Reece, who is visiting us on a survey trip, blessed our family with many gifts, including a birthday gift from him and his wife.  Shae-Lynn and Shane gave me their presents on Wednesday, the 18th.  Gathering at Mom & Dad's house in Mbarara. Keith's family always has prank gifts for him. Keith gave me one of his presents on the 19th, and then while we were in Mbarara, we celebrated all of the August birthdays on the 20th at Mom & Dad's.
